Foundational Learning Competency (FLC)

 

The IEB is a registered assessment agency with Umalusi Council for General and Further Education. Umalusi externally moderates NQF Level 1-4 assessments. The IEB work closely with SETAs and industry to address their assessment needs, particularly in respect of the fundamental areas of learning i.e. Communications, Numeracy and Mathematical Literacy.

 

Assessment

 

The IEB offers national examinations twice a year in June and November. In addition, we also respond to the needs of our clients by offering Exams on Request (EOR) from February to May, July to October, and again in December.

The IEB assessment involves summative assessment at AET level 1 to 3 and NQF 1 to 4, external assessment and moderation of provider assessment (Site Based Assessment – SBA) at NQF level 1.
