A well-established and leading company specialising in the manufacturing of lubricant products requires the above to manage and control the supply chain process from end to end, including managing incoming raw materials, forecasting, supply and production planning, as well as introducing and executing supply chain and operations systems and procedures.Minimum requirements for the role:

  • A degree or BTech or related tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering or Operations or Supply Chain or related is essential.
  • Previous experience having worked in a senior Supply Chain or Planning Management or related role within a Lubricants or Oil or any Manufacturing environment or related is essential.
  • Previous experience having managed supply and production planning as well as expediting within the raw material and or finished product environment is essential.
  • Previous experience having managed a team of people is essential.
  • Must understand equipment capabilities and be able to unpack data.
  • Must have strong leadership capabilities, knowledge and commercial skills to be able to lead their division.
  • Strong understanding of SYSPRO or related ERP systems is essential.
  • Previous exposure in implementing Six Sigma, Kaizen and Lean manufacturing principles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and implementing supply chain as well as operations planning principals and systems.
  • Conducting current and future forecasting analysis and ensuring that processes and methods followed are based on best practices.
  • Overseeing and developing systems and procedures required to meet service levels and inventory objectives.
  • Managing inventory by identifying demand forecast risks and developing strategies to mitigate such risks.
  • Evolving and maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures for supply chain processes and systems.
  • Managing the procurement and inventory of raw materials.
  • Utilising information obtained to develop and maintain strategies to balance supply and demand in line with financial objectives.
  • Managing production planning and ensuring the appropriate allocation of resources and materials as required.
  • Preparing and effectively executing demand planning to improve profit forecast accuracy as well as aligning stock levels with demand patterns.
  • Supervising and motivating a team to achieve set KPI’s.
  • Overseeing the management of slow and obsolete stock as well as sudden increases in demand volume for stock as required.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
