Description

Our client based in the North Rand is currently looking for a Sales Manager is to be responsible for the Technical (Application) and Sales team and in creating and managing demand for microgrid and energy storage solutions in Africa. The role manages the technical and commercial functions for both new and existing customers to maintain an active pipeline of microgrid projects from initial stages through project execution
Education and Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - able to represent the Company technically both externally and internally
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales and/or sales management experience in electrical products and/or engineered solutions, experience in renewable energy and/or microgrids highly preferred.
  • Experience generating quotations and working with pricing/negotiations
  • Legally authorized to work in the South Africa without company sponsorship (Professionally registered with ECSA)
  • Ability to travel frequently within South Africa and surrounding regions
  • Pr.Eng registration with ECSA
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Experience developing business cases
  • Prior experience with designing and delivering solar / storage / microgrids
  • Experience in project development a plus
  • Preference will be given for a strong knowledge of Company’s electrical product and service offerings/capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement sales and marketing strategy to achieve business objectives
  • Systematically analyze market dynamics, customers, and competitors’ activities, and provide input / feedback to marketing and business development
  • Educate customers on the benefits and application of microgrids and energy storage
  • Act as first point of access with potential clients and uphold the professional image of the company
  • Effectively follow-up on leads and review client scope to determine if opportunity is a valuable proposition for the company
  • Build relationships with key customers and partners to enhance long term business prospects
  • Manage sales opportunities through the stages of the selling cycle resulting in improved new win rates to achieve growth goals
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Comply with customer or projects bid review processes and provide bid management documents in accordance with policies and process requirements of the project or customer
  • Achieve microgrid and energy storage sales and support business revenue target
  • Interface with external vendors for product inquiries and quotation requests as required
  • Give customer presentations via joint customer visits with various sales channels and to end-users, or other sales channels to help educate and promote the Company microgrid project / service capabilities,
  • Actively support the Company internal processes and requirements
  • Maintain technical knowledge of common forms of renewable energy and how they are applied include solar (PV & Thermal) and wind plus energy storage, and classical generation assets (diesel, natural gas, steam)
