Job Title: Technical Sales - Gas
Reporting to: Sales Manager

Salary R460 000CTC No company car

Johannesburg Metropolitan

Job Objective:
To manage and retain existing small, medium and large customers within various industries. Deliver the optimum product, price and service package for both Company and its customers. Develop sustainable customer and stakeholder relationships in order to maximize both short term and long-term revenue. To grow the market by seeking additional gas usage at existing customers and by identifying and commercializing new customers. To maximize margins at both new and existing customers while complying with the Gas Act and the approved pricing applications.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
 B degree or National Diploma engineering/technical
 Minimum 5 years relevant experience negotiating supply contracts within a technical/production environment.
 Technical knowledge of gas equipment and customer processes would be an added advantage.
 excellent command of the Microsoft Office package
 Experience in the gas pipeline industry would be an advantage
 Energy industry experience in a production environment
 Business strategy and forward thinking, business acumen

Duties include:

- Ability to build partnerships within a multi-disciplinary environment - team-based approach to holistic customer service
- Knowledge of the Gas Act, Regulatory Agreements and Consumer Protection Act
- Marketing/sales experience focused on a customer centred approach
- Driving continual improvements and engaging with numerous business units within Company
- Financial aspect of sales: revenue, margins, project payback
- Well-developed technical understanding of all phases of a gas producing and thermo-processing equipment
- Knowledge of commodity/consumer markets, customer drivers/service
- Knowledge of supply/demand dynamics, customer demand management
- Knowledge of international/domestic product pricing, global/domestic economic environment
- Product knowledge, business processes and systems
- Sales budgeting and forecasting, operations planning
- Knowledge of customer process/conversion technologies
- Debtors and credit management
- Knowledge of end-use/industry markets
- Knowledge of environmental/legislation/regulatory/contractual issues and impact
- Knowledge of commodity and petrochemical trade issues
- Commodity and petrochemical pricing
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Networking, negotiating, conflict management/diplomacy
- Customer relationship management, marketing products and services
