Our client is an independent logistics advisory firm that develops innovative transport solutions to help companies achieve new and improved levels of logistics performance

They are looking for a dynamic and results-driven TRANSPORT COMMERCIAL MANAGER with extensive (minimum 5 years) industry experience specifically in the Fuel, Oil and Gas industries with knowledge of the transporter landscape in the country and negotiations aspects related to transport

In this role, you will:

- Build sustainable strategic relationships with key suppliers
- Prepare and conduct monthly or quarterly carrier performance reviews
- Effectively manage 3PL suppliers
- Drive cost competitiveness and savings initiatives
- Drive improved service delivery through effective management of suppliers as well as service enhancement initiatives
- Overall carrier management, Risk and liability through effective corporate governance adherence
- Interaction with suppliers and building relationships with key suppliers
- Disbursement management and rate management
- Rate analysis, opportunity identification, solution implementation
- Exploit existing processes, opportunities and cost structure
- Development of key supplier plans most notably peak period volume commitment plans
- Assist Account leads to ensure suitable carrier capacity planning vs client volume forecasts
- Calculation and sign off fuel and annual adjustments
- Assist the key accounts to compile annual transport budgets
- Business Risk Management
- Determining and mitigating business risks by using appropriate tools
- Ensuring compliance to audit protocols
- Eliminating fraudulent activities
- Developing business contingency plans
- Customer satisfaction
- Achieving and exceeding contractual service levels
- Compiling monthly reports with value adding initiatives
- Attending customer steering committee meetings
- Research global contracts, benchmarks and come up with ideas to improve as-is

- Proficient financial analysis skills

Experience / Qualifications

- 5 years related Transport experience, in the fuel industry
- Degree or Diploma in Logistics/ Transport/Supply Chain
- IT literate with advanced excel skills
