Valve Operations Manager - Petrochem / Oil & Gas - Cape Town - Permanent

- You will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of all Valves work scopes about safety, quality, financial and customer satisfaction.


- To be responsible and accountable for the delivery of all Valves work scopes about safety, quality, financial and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the valve focal point.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Senior and Project managers on technical, resourcing and contractual compliance.
- To either create new or develop existing client relationships at all levels.
- Actively grow Projects or Frame Agreement works under their control.
- To setup and build the Valves division in Africa and beyond.

Directly Reports to:

- Valve General Manager Africa

Working relationships with:

- BL Managers, Regional Managers, Regional Operation Managers, Business Development, QHSE Department, Finance & HR.

Directly Supervises:

- Valve Services Operations and Projects Team, Valve Commercial, Valve Logistics Team, Offshore Personnel, Valve Project Teams, Workshop Team, Logistics Team, Training.

Main Responsibilities:

- Take an active role with Business Development in promoting all aspects of Valves industry including Offshore, Marine and MOD where applicable
- Assist with Development and deliver the agreed budget for Africa in line with objectives
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and delivery of budgeted revenue and forecasts
- Oversee the commercial process ensuring projects are profitable and invoicing is performed correctly and in a timely manner
- Provide support to the business development team in pursuit of key projects and clients
- Actively promote a "one Valves team"
- Propose and procure assets and control CapEx spend
- Ensure all contracts are delivered safely, timely and as per terms
- Develop close working relationships with Clients' management
- Ensure awareness of customer requirements and key issues
- Liaise with clients to ensure appropriate service delivery and manage complaints in a timely manner
- Provide technical support to clients and the team
- Put systems in place to identify underperforming contracts and develop improvement plans to being these back in line with the company expectations
- Actively introduce other service lines to clients
- Review and give strategic input to HYS and Global tenders
- Manage workload within the department by planning and allocating activities to the team
- Manage performance of the team and offshore personnel, dealing with any employee issues effectively and with the assistance of HR
- Provide mentoring and development plans for direct reports
- Resource department for current and future needs ensuring competent resources are in place to deliver contractual requirements
- Setup personal development plans and monitor
