Bridge Resource Management

This Skills Programme is aimed at the following marine personnel who ideally form part of a Bridge Team Operation:

• Merchant or Navy Deck officers
• Masters, and
• Pilots

This skills programme is SAMSA accredited. It complies with the STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) Code regulations Section AII/2, SAMSA Code of Qualification - Deck: Personnel Management and Ship's Masters Business Module 4 and 6 as well as 46 CFR 10.205 and 10.209.

The course objective to reduce the occurrence of errors by focusing on human factors in relation to how they affect the performance of Bridge Resource Management (BRM).

Learning Outcomes of this course are:

• Increased knowledge, understanding and focus on how human factors affect the working of a vessel's collective operation.
• The basis for developing and using BRM skills both in routine operations and in critical situations.
