Bridge Resource Management for Pilots

This Skills Programme is aimed at Marine Pilots.

The objective of this course is to reduce the occurrence of Pilot errors by focusing on human factors in relation to how they affect the performance of Bridge Resource Management (BRM). 

The learning outcomes of this course are:

• Increased knowledge, understanding and  focus on how human factors affect the working of a vessel’s collective operation.
• The basis for developing and using BRM skills both in routine operations and in critical situations.

The course covers the competence requirements as outlined in the STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) convention, table A-II/2 and section B-VIII/2 part 3-1, as well as 46 CFR 10.205 and 10.209.  and IMO Regulation 960 (XXIII) Annex 1 par 5.3
