PSSR – PST Combination (PSSR-PST)
The Skills Programme is aimed at:
- All Seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship
The course objective is to promote and ensure compliance with the Code of Safe Working Practices Survive at sea in the event of ship abandonment. Minimize the risk of fire and maintain a state of readiness to respond to any emergency situations onboard a vessel
This learning opportunity is designed for all seafarers in any capacity wishing to pursue a career at sea, the competencies as described in the STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) and SAMSA (South African Maritime Safety Authority) Codes respectively:
- Comply with Emergency Procedures
- Take precautions prevent pollution to marine environment
- Knowledge and observation of safe working practices
- Contribute to effective human relationships onboard ship
- Contribute to effective communications onboard ship
- Understand and take necessary actions to control fatigue
- Safety and Survival.
